DUTIES – Under supervision from the Operation Controller and Vice President of Southern District, performs varied accounting functions.  Day to day activities require the use of initiative and judgment, particularly when prioritizing work.

 Knowledge of:

  • General accounting practices
  • Auditing practices
  • Operation of standard office equipment, including personal computers, photocopier, fax machines and appropriate software such as Windows, Microsoft Office applications


  • Participate in monthly general ledger closings and financial reporting
  • Review and analyze cost accumulation of ranch and blocks and indirect cost centers
  • Assist with data collection and reporting for operational decision making and planning
  • Maintain Operations database and reporting
  • Manage the maintenance of inventory for seed, fertilizer and chemicals
  • Administrative support for Harvesting and Production Departments
  • Maintaining an open flow of related communication with both operations and accounting
  • Responsible for keeping Management abreast of all operations accounting functions
  • Continually look for ways to improve accounting related functions in terms of accuracy and efficiency, making thought out recommendations for those improvements
  • Participate in or complete special projects as needed


  • BA/BS in Accounting
  • 3-5 years accounting experience
  • Excellent customer service skills on the phone and in person
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel, and Word, and working knowledge of Access
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Organized team player who works well with a variety of people with a minimum of supervision
  • Solid problem solving skills with a methodical approach
  • Regular and consistent attendance mandatory
  • Valid driver’s license and clean record
  • Correct English usage, including spelling, grammar, punctuation and vocabulary
