Pay Rate: $16.75

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Safely operate forklift in an efficient and precise manner
    • Complete & pass OSHA approved forklift certification test
  • Strong math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide)
  • Learn all commodity codes and physical pallet SKUs
  • Computer literate and strong data entry skills
  • Basic office equipment such as telephone, 10-key calculator, copier/fax, 2-way radio, etc.
  • Ability to learn equipment and/or tools required to perform essential job functions (scan gun, 2-way radio, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills (bilingual English/Spanish preferred)
    • Ability to communicate with management, other departments, truck drivers, employees, etc.
  • Work Monday to Saturday with occasional Sundays
    • Work day or night shift
    • Work in all outdoor weather conditions
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for 8 plus hours a day
  • Safely lift up to 50 pounds
  • Self-starter, self-motivated, and ability to work with minimal supervision

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform pre-op inspection of forklift, complete inspection report(s), and report any issues to supervision
  • Receive all products coming into the D’Arrigo Bros., Spreckels Facility
    • Verify product count, size, pack etc. matches information on field tag
    • Visually inspect all field trucks for damaged pallets and/or cartons
    • Accurately count, code, tag, and scan all products received
    • Visually inspect all field trucks for quality
    • Inspect all produce received from outside companies
    • Enter all received and verified commodities into applicable software system
    • Maintain running balance of all incoming products by commodity
      • balance received totals with field final counts at the end of each day
  • Assist in unloading/loading field trucks, as needed.
  • Communicate with Supervision, Shipping Dept., Accounting Dept., Administrative office, truck drivers, outside company representatives, and/or outside vendors.
  • Utilize cleaning equipment such as sweeper, broom, shovel, squeegee, etc. to maintain all work areas clean.
  • Follow all verbal and written instructions from company supervision
  • Understand and follow all company rules and regulations, including but not limited to:
    • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
    • D’Arrigo Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
    • Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP)
    • Attendance, Work and Safety Rules
    • Food Safety and Hygiene Policy
  • Miscellaneous duties and tasks as assigned by Supervision
