DUTIES – Responsible for inventory control and tracking systems, product rotation, quality control reporting, and accurate loading of trucks.  Must have experience in directing hourly work force, coordinating operations with several divisions, taking physical inventories, inspecting product and maintaining a safe working environment.  Must be able to assist in Shipping Office.  Seasonal travel required.  Need strong math, comprehension, analytical, organizational and decision-making skills.  Must be willing to work in a cold environment, and nights and weekends.  Bilingual, English/Spanish, a plus.

DUTIES

  • Ensure all company rules and regulations, including but not limited to, GMP’s, SOP’s, SSOP’s, attendance, work and safety rules, and food safety policies are being followed
  • Assist in overseeing and directing hourly workforce, including but not limited to, daily scheduling, delegating various tasks, administration of disciplinary actions, and reviewing timecards
  • Trains and effectively communicates job expectations of all shipping/receiving procedures and policies to all new hires
  • Responsible for inventory control and tracking systems, product rotation, quality control and accurate loading of trucks while taking direction from both Shipping and Plant Operation Supervisors and Managers
  • Provides excellent customer service in all interactions with employees, management, and customers
  • Seasonal travel required
  • Work schedule may include occasional long hours including weekends and some holidays
  • Miscellaneous duties assigned by Supervisor/Manager

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have experience in produce storage, shipping and receiving
  • responsible for proper organization of coldbox and accurate inventory counts
  • provide FIFO method of produce/materials storage in coldbox (knowledge of inventory control tracking systems, logistics and perpetual inventory)
  • ensure segregation, identification and disposition of non-conforming produce/materials and report on it
  • Must have experience supervising and directing hourly employees, union experience a plus
  • Cooling procedures/Vacuum Cooling/Forced Air Cooling
  • Organized team player with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Displays excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer skills a plus, including but not limited to, knowledge of computer programs and scan guns related to shipping and receiving
  • A proven ability to work with a variety of people and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Can work standing and walking for extended time in a cold, wet, and icy environment (60-80% of the time in 32-34 degrees with 90% humidity)
  • Regular and consistent attendance mandatory
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems independently and with sound judgment
  • Need strong math, comprehension, analytical, organizational and decision-making skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines, including but not limited to, appointments and cooling
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work
  • Bilingual in (English/Spanish) preferred
