DUTIES – Under limited supervision, confidentially provide administrative assistance to the Vice President, Harvesting.  In addition to typing, filing and scheduling, this individual will perform a variety of duties such as coordination of meetings and travel arrangements.

Day to day activities require the use of initiative and good judgment, particularly when prioritizing duties or working with forepersons and supervisors. Must be able to read, write and speak English and Spanish and work well with others.  Varied administrative and secretarial duties requiring strong skills in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.  Requires strong comprehension and organizational skills.

This position is based in Salinas, CA but requires seasonal relocation to Yuma, Arizona from November through March.  A per diem is provided.

  • Type and draft general correspondences, memos, reports and flyers.  Review and proofread materials for completeness, accuracy, format, proper grammar and compliance with policies and procedures.

    • Equipment moving including requesting checks and credit cards
    • Seed planting
    • Daily quality
  • Accounts Payable
    • Match purchase orders with delivery tags
    • Match invoices with delivery tags

Qualifications:

  • Must possess strong data entry skills with speed and accuracy on both a keyboard and 10-key
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Organized team player who works well with a variety of people with a minimum of supervision
  • Work well independently and within a team
  • Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information
  • Excellent customer service skills on the phone and in person
