Summary/objective:
In charge of crew recruitment every morning, daily assistance, manages rehires, leaves of absence, voluntary quits and anything that has to do with maintaining statuses up to date with office. Essential functions: (to include supervisory responsibilities – if applicable)

- Uses electronic driver logs to do pre trip/post trip vehicle inspection
- Services bus on a daily basis
- Drives a bus with crew employees from bus yard to field location
- Executes tailgate meetings of different topics like heat stress, food safety, safety in general etc.
- Organizes crew and distributes equipment and items consistent with their commodity to start workday
- Reviews daily quality and quantities produced on an hourly/bihourly basis, averages, per acre with supervision and adjusts product to meet daily specifications
- Teaches job duties to new employees
- Reviews label information, print load tickets, order supplies
- Manages inventories on site along with supervisor
- Instructs employees and reviews how they are performing job duties consistent with daily specifications
- Monitors drinking water levels, heat levels, rest breaks and lunches or any other types of weather situations that arise
- Reviews and completes timesheets on a daily basis consistent with crew activities
- Reviews crew paychecks, pay stubs retrieve signature sheets
- Understands and executes federal and state law requirements
- Refills supplies at end of each day
- Has an understanding of harvesters, how they function, turn on and off, drive, how to construct and deconstruct (open and close) harvester for moving purposes, trouble shoot simple items like electric sealers, scan guns, printers
- Hand writes paper tickets for bus inspections, load tickets delivering to cooler, fill out rehire, warning, voluntary quits, crew payroll, notes in daily diaries
- Able to read write, interpret, input information into an electronic log device, scan gun or computer
- Able to retrieve information from a computer
- Performs payroll functions for the crew
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure while managing multiple tasks
- Uses math, comprehension, analytical, organizational and decision-making skills
- Inter-department collaboration as needed
- Has understanding of logistics and transportation
- This position requires regular driving as an essential job function in overseeing and coordinating various aspects of the harvesting process
- Consistent attendance is mandatory

Work environment:
- Mostly outdoor with occasional indoor work
- Full time, Monday through Friday and up to 6-7 days/week which may include overtime, weekends, and holidays

Required education and experience:
- Must have experience in harvesting and inspection of product
- Must have experience supervising hourly employees, union experience a plus
- Bilingual and biliterate in English/Spanish
- Organized team player who works well with a variety of people with a minimum of supervision
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure while managing multiple tasks
- Need strong math, comprehension, analytical, organizational and decision-making skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively present facts and recommendations in oral or written form
- Solid problem-solving skills with a methodical approach
- Must possess a valid driver license and clean record
- Commercial A or B, a farm labor bus certificate to drive a bus with employees if needed as per commodity
- Have knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements, fill out driver logs, know how to calculate on duty and off duty hours
- Effective communication with crew employees, teaching, calculating yields at field level, calculating-generating hourly-bihourly production counts, managing different packs and quantities, ordering supplies, filling out payroll sheets, using electronic tablet logs, willingness to learn and place into effect work rules, safety rules, general rules, interaction with crew is a must
- Understanding of logistics and transportation
- Must have ability to work with mobile applications
Preferred education and experience:
- Experience in commodity is a plus
- Minimum of 1 year experience working in harvesting produce
- High School education
- Experience using Microsoft Windows, Outlook, and Excel and be able to use hand scanner and print labels
